Have You Ever Pondered...

Sometimes, when i am alone...driving in my van...on my way home from work, my mind wanders. Mostly I think about the kids, work ,finances, my husband (not necessarily in that order) etc. But yesterday, for some strange reason, I started thinking about extended family members. As most of my regular readers know...I just got married and so did my daughter. So our family has tripled in just a few short months. With the holidays coming, I started thinking about who to invite...which led me to think what role each person plays in the family. Obviously, I am mother-in-law to my daughters new husband (Nate). He is brother-in-law to my kids and his mom is my daughters mother-in-law. But then I thought...what does that make his mom and I? Are we sister-in-laws? And what is she to my kids...their grandmother-in-law? Would she be Stevie's (my husband) sister in law? What would his kids be to her? At what point does the in-law stop?
I could Google it and see if I could find the information that way...but that would require effort I just don't care to put forth. I would much rather post it in my blog and see what my bloggy friends come up with.
Maybe I let my mind wander too far sometimes! Hmmmmph...who knows?!

Funny ,other then you being his mil and the other mom being mil to your daughter, she's nothing to you or the other kids. The boy is brotherinlaw to your other kids though ,but really I don't pay attention to anything other then the parents and then my hubby's sister is aunt to my son, nothing to my other kids and since I don't like her nothing to me.
