Who is the "Nobody" and why is he in my house?

Welcome Sitsa's! This was a favorite post for some of my followers. I think we all have the "nobody" in our house! Thanks for reading...

Every day it is the same story..."Nobody" did everything wrong that happened in my home! I don't know who this "nobody" is and despite my efforts, I have been unable to catch him/her. So I thought maybe I would enlist the help of my online possee to locate this "Nobody". So here is the best description I have to offer...

WANTED...

The person responsible for the mess under the kitchen table after the kids have finished eaten.

The person that left their dirty socks on the front porch for the past 2 days.

The person that spilled kool-aid mix on the blinds over the kitchen sink.

The person that left the empty cookie box in the cabinet for the next person with a craving to disappointedly find.

Armed and dangerous with my missing forks and butter knives and a few other missing items from my kitchen.

May be wearing my favorite shirt I have been missing for about 2 months and Stevie's missing denim shorts.

I have no physical description except for what I gather from obvious evidence. This person has at least 10 pair of feet because they wear all of the missing socks and apparently all of the feet are right feet since they only tend to take that shoe from the pair.

"Nobody" should also be a large person since the only thing this person seems to eat is cookies and snack cakes.

Be cautious as this "nobody" is a bit of a prankster. He/she likes to leave the doors open, the windows up and the lights on. He/she also likes to take the last of the toilet paper, leaving only 1 half ripped sheet on the roll.

He/she should have a pocket full of change making them easy to hear if anywhere near by.

Oh, and if you should see this "nobody" please be advised that they are likely to have hands covered in peanut butter and jelly judging by the handprints on all of my doors, my walls and some of my windows.

If found, please return only our missing items and kindly ask this person to stay away from my home. I would thoroughly enjoy waking up to a clean house with clean walls, doors and windows. Knowing where all of my stuff is and how it got there would be different as well. I would also really enjoy not hearing the kids argue back and forth because "nobody" played with their toys and left them out on the floor for someone else to trip over.

Thanks in advance for all of your help! It is greatly appreciated!

Good luck on finding "Nobody". If I see him/her I'll be sure to give them your message. But if you could also help me out, I am looking for "Not Me" you wouldn't believe the things this "Not Me" has done over the last 16 years!

How funny!

Ha! Too funny. I totally feel you on the empty cookie box left in the cupboard. Of course it's only when you've got a terrible craving that you discover a decoy box!

I always respond with..."Oh believe me...it was SOMEBODY!" Now if I could just figure out who that somebody was. Like you...I am still searching!

I'm glad to read this post. My mom swears my kids need counseling because they always deny everything. LOL I know my kids are just typical KIDS! My mom should read blogs. heh

Did you know that 'Nobody' is a jetsetter? Yup, I have met 'Nobody' in Australia, Switzerland, Ireland and he now seems to visit my house here in England on a regular basis ;-)

Hey, nobody has been at my house too! What is up with that? What I need is a "somebody" to: empty the cat litter box, take out the trash, and clean my kitchen. BAHAHAHAHAHA

Jen said...

Ha! I've been chasing after "nobody" for years! Nobody does everything in my house :) I also thought my kids were getting a good education but apparently not because all I ever hear is "I don't know" !

jewelstreet said...

Good luck! If anyone sees him, tell him to return the pants he took and all the brand new socks I just bought for my daughter.

His feet must be just the right size because they are all gone.

Pssssssssssst ... I think he's at my house.

KC Mom said...

We used to have a joke in our house growing up...it was the "not me" ghost. I think he lurks about in my dryer and closets too!

Heather said...

It's funny because it's true!

Nobody likes to pop in here, too, which is a bit more convenient as we have only one child. Yep, Nobody is a frequent visitor (almost daily!) at our house!

Thanks for the morning laugh!! Cheers!

Susan said...

Nobody's been here too! And honestly, I've had enough of Nobody - wish he/she would just stay away!

tidymom said...

I LOVE it!!.......I think Nobody has been spotted at my house as well. LOL

Oh yeah, nobody invades my house, too!

You may want to add these to your list or we may never find "it".

Hershey's syrup on the kitchen blinds.

The sticky traces of whatever was spilled on the kitchen floor.

The towels are missing.

Every blanket in the linen closet are gone.

I could go on and on and on :)
Enjoy your SITS day!

Oh, that's funny. I have to say that having two children cuts down on the detective work...but even in a smaller household, there's still a mysterious "nobody."

"Nobody" hasn't shown up at our house yet. I think for some reason he waits until the kids are a little older to show up.

"Nobody" hasn't been to our house, but maybe it is because my kids are still so young. I'll look out for him though. ;)
Happy SITS day.

When you only have one kid, I guess "nobody" is a little easier to find!

If I see yours I'll let you know...

Very cute blog, by the way, and way to go, mom of 9!!?!?!?! I can barely handle my 1!

I don't even have kids and I have a Not me living with me.

Idunno is another relative who has visited our house. That Nobody clan is even more prolific than yours!

Marrdy said...

Did you send him to my house?? And Tracy sent Idunno...we have been invaded!

Ronnica said...

It's amazing, "nobody" doesn't visit my house very often since it's just me and a roommate...

dddiva said...

LOL too funny, there has always been a not me ghost in our home. Aren't kids wonderful?

Brooke Jean said...

I remember my little sister (who is 9 years younger than me) always saying "The Stranger Did it" when she would get in trouble for ... hanging on the rear view mirror in the car and breaking it off or for leaving her bike in the road, etc. This post reminded me so much of her. ha good times!

koopermom said...

Yes, I have a nobody in my house too. Although, my three year old refers to him as Bob.

Brooke said...

That was fun. We don't even have kids yet and I feel like we also have one in our home.

Tranquility said...

I don't no much about "Nobody", but there is a "me" running around our house who it definitely "Wasn't"!

The little one informed me that it "wasn't Me" who left teeny-tiny slimy handprints all over the freshly washed windows! And the teenager told me that it "wasn't Me" I heard slamming doors at 1:00 this morning!

;)

Liza said...

Hysterical! I think I know where Nobody is - he/she is at my house most of the time! :)

AJ said...

We have a "nobody" here I also. This nobody is obsessed with stealing silverware too. I wonder if they are related.

Tiffany said...

That Nobody can sure reek havoc.

Over here he leaves the toothpaste tube a mess.

Melissa Lester said...

That Nobody is quite a bandit. He/she is responsible for all kinds of havoc over here. But when he can't be found, most of the family passes the blame to 2-year-old Emma. I think she might be Nobody's accomplice, but she's not talking.

angie said...

I've got 5 "nobodies" at my house. :) I'll keep my eyes open for your bandit. :)

Congrats on your SITS day today.

Paige said...

Our is "not my fault" and "I did not do it"

Yeah I think nobody was in my shower last night using my razor to shave the label off the can of shaving cream... the kids say they saw "nobody" dong it ;)

WheresMyAngels said...

How the heck did my Mercede get over to your house??

I don't know how she does it, but she hides one shoe from every pair. Sometimes it takes me over a year to find them. Like this summer, I got out our cooler and there was a shoe in it!

Laurel Plum said...

Nobody, Somebody Else, I Don't Know, Not Me,... Here My little Man just blames 'Johnny'. His invisible trickster who only comes out when something is out of sorts. On occasion he even tattles on himself, I mean 'Johnny'! P.S. I am more than willing to help all of you pass out the WANTED posters!

Aaawwww I have heard of this "Nobody" before. He/She hasn't visited our house yet, but like Marla, "Not Me" has been with us for years.

You know what popped into my head? "Well your nobody called today. She hung up when I asked her name..." You remember that song right?!?! Anyway, Nobody hasn't shown up at our house yet, but my oldest is only six. When my youngest, now one, starts speaking I fully expect her to introduce us to Nobody :)
